Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2010 and presently it offers Under-Graduate programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Post-Graduate programme in Power Electronics and Drives. The department has qualified faculty members with excellent academic records. Our students keep themselves wired to the world by attending seminars, workshops and by conducting mini projects. The Department has good infrastructure and full-fledged laboratory facilities with Power system Simulation Laboratory and it has various softwares like MATLAB, Psim. The department has been constantly producing illustrious engineering graduates of high caliber who occupy prestigious positions in the academia and industrial fields.

Our department has extended its service to the society by conducting short term courses on Rural Developement Program for unemployed rural youth and uneducated home makers to enable them to opt for self employment.

UNDER GRADUATE(UG) & POST GRADUATE(PG)

We are offering a 4 year UG programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering which was started in the year 2010 and 2 year PG programme in Power Electronics and Drives which was started in the year 2010 that will help the students to develop their innovative ideas and to implement them in various fields, which results in the upliftment of their future and also to the society.

ACHIEVEMENT

  • Department of EEE has got the permanent Affiliation by Anna University, Chennai.
  • In the Academic year 2014-2015, 70% of the students were placed in various MNC’s.
  • In the Academic year 2015-2016, 71% of the students were placed in various companies.
  • Our students of III year AND IV year attended the entrepreneurship orientation programme on JAN 2017.
  • Dr.R.Ilango, HOD of EEE has published a paper in “Fault Location Algorithm using impedance compensation method (ICM) for FACTS Devices compensated transmission lines”, Journal of Electrical Engineering, (Annexure – I)
  • Dr.R.Ilango, Hod of EEE department has published a paper in “Fault Location Method for STATCOM Connected Transmission Lines using CCM”, Circuits and systems.
  • Dr.R.Ilango, HOD of EEE has secured 69% in NPTEL in the subject of “Advances In UHV Transmission And Distribution”.
  • M.Meenakshi & M.Dharani Devi has published a paper in “Stepped Multi Carrier SPWM Techniques For Seven Level Cascaded Inverter” in International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Engineers Research(UGC approved Journal).
  • Mrs.M.Dharani Devi has published a paper in “Multi Carrier Based Pwm Control Strategies For Five Level CMLI” in the Journal Of Network Communication And Emerging Technologies. (UGC approved Journal).
  • Mrs.M.Dharani Devi has published a paper in “Development of multi carrier SPWM techniques for cascaded MLI” in the International journal of computational Engineering Research(UGC approved Journal)
